Short version: Soundmovr does not collect, store or share your data. It is a web page that runs in your browser and talks to Spotify directly. There is no Soundmovr server that your library or login passes through.
What happens when you use it
- Signing in happens on Spotify's own page. Soundmovr never sees your password. Spotify hands your browser a temporary access key for the permissions shown on its page.
- Reading and copying your library is done by your browser, straight to and from Spotify's servers.
- The old account is only read. Soundmovr asks Spotify for read-only permissions there.
- The new account gets only what you chose, and the report shows everything that was done.
What is kept, and where
| What | Where | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your Spotify app's Client ID | Your browser (local storage) | Until you change it or clear the site's data |
| Spotify's access keys for the two accounts | This browser tab (session storage) | Until you close the tab |
| The list of your library read for the move | This browser tab (session storage) | Until you close the tab |
None of it is sent to Soundmovr or anyone else. There are no cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, no ads and no third-party scripts.
Hosting
The page itself is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the page and protect it from attacks. Soundmovr does not see or use those records.
Links to other sites
Spotify's pages (login, developer dashboard) and Ko-fi (if you choose to leave a tip) have their own privacy rules. Soundmovr only links to them.
Removing every trace
- Close the Soundmovr tab: the access keys are gone.
- To forget the Client ID too, clear this site's data in your browser settings.
- To revoke the access you gave on Spotify's side, open spotify.com/account/apps and remove your app.
- You can delete your Spotify developer app in the Developer Dashboard whenever you like.
